Situated in Bilecik—one of the most symbolically significant locations of Turkey’s national independence struggle—the Turkish War of Independence Memorial Museum stands as a powerful cultural statement. Developed by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Bimtaş, this 22,000 sqm memorial space commemorates the foundational moments that led to the birth of the Republic of Turkey.

EC Lighting Design Studio was responsible for the complete lighting design and consultancy of all interior spaces, exhibition areas, façades, and landscape zones. Our lighting concept was driven by the goal of making historical memory visible and emotionally resonant. A layered lighting strategy was implemented to support spatial clarity, exhibition readability, and user orientation, while integrating seamlessly with the architectural narrative.
