Altınordu Pier is a conceptual lighting experience project developed by EC Lighting Design Studio for the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, situated in the heart of Turkey’s Black Sea coastal city of Ordu. Although it was never realized, the project remains a compelling example of how light can shape public space through interactive storytelling.

At the core of the concept is a large-scale moon sculpture positioned at the edge of the pier, complemented by a subtle architectural lighting scheme along the deck. Inside the moon figure are two distinct light sources—one cool white, the other warm white. When the pier is sparsely populated, the installation emits a soft, cool-toned glow. As more people gather, the light becomes warmer and more intense, transforming the pier into a responsive and emotionally engaging environment.
